January 25th, 2026: Voter Awareness Rally
On the occasion of National Voters’ Day, My Bharat, a unit of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, organized a voter awareness rally in Patna to promote democratic participation and responsible citizenship.
Participants took the voter’s pledge administered by the Election Commission of India. The rally was conducted from Patna Youth Hostel to Marine Drive and back, witnessing the participation of around 200 NSS volunteers and students from various institutions.
The NSS unit of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology and students of Xavier University actively participated in the rally under the guidance of Mr. Ajay Kumar, NSS Director.
On the occasion, NSS volunteers also carried out a cleanliness drive at the Patna Youth Hostel, reinforcing the values of civic responsibility, cleanliness, and democratic engagement.
January 24th, 2026: Cloth Distribution Drive
On the occasion of Saraswati Puja, the volunteers of the NSS Unit organized a clothes collection and distribution drive in the slum area near Bigha Nala.
The clothes were collected from NSS volunteers and later distributed among needy families residing in the nearby slum area. During the drive, more than 150 clothes were distributed to underprivileged individuals, bringing relief and support to the local community.
The programme witnessed active participation from NSS volunteers including Raunak, Abhishek, Adarsh, Nishant, Rashri, Shanawaz, Satvik, and other team members.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Abhishek Anand, Vice President of NSS, and under the supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar, NSS Director, reflecting the spirit of social responsibility and community service.
January 23rd, 2026: Sanitary Pad Distribution Drive (UDAAN)
On the occasion of National Girl Child Day, observed on 23rd January, a social awareness programme was organized under Project UDAAN at the Anta Ghat slum area with the support of Rise Up Foundation.
The initiative was jointly undertaken by the NSS units of Xavier University and St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology, aiming to promote awareness on menstrual health and personal hygiene among girls and adolescent girls.
During the programme, 50 sanitary pads were distributed, and the participants were sensitized about personal hygiene, health, and menstrual hygiene practices.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Ajay Kumar, NSS Coordinator, reflecting the institution’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community outreach.
January 21st, 2026: Role of AI for Business Solutions | Placement-Oriented Information Session
The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna successfully organized a Placement-Oriented Information Session on “Role of AI for Business Solutions” for BBA Part III students, in collaboration with the Pune Institute of Business Management.
The session began with welcome remarks by Dr. Piyush R. Sahay, Head – Placement Cell, who emphasized the importance of industry exposure and emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence in enhancing students’ employability and career preparedness.
The resource person, Mr. Bhanu Pratap Singh, shared valuable industry insights on the application of Artificial Intelligence in business decision-making, analytics, operational efficiency, and strategic growth. Drawing from his expertise in AI, digital transformation, and business analytics, he highlighted how AI-driven solutions are reshaping modern business practices.

January 18th, 2026: Sadbhaawana Samaagam
With a focus on strengthening family bonds, the Social Awareness Committee of Xavier University, Patna organized its annual “Sadbhaawana Samaagam” on 18 January 2026.
The programme provided families with meaningful guidance on navigating the challenges of adolescence and fostering responsible growth among young adults.
Through interactive discussions and reflective sessions, the event emphasized the importance of effective communication, emotional understanding, and mutual support within families.
The Samaagam served as a valuable platform for parents and students to engage in open dialogue, reinforcing values of empathy, trust, and collective well-being.
January 17th, 2026: National Startup Day
A comprehensive session on “Startup India Mission: Opportunities for College Students” was held on 17th January 2026 at Kalam Hall from 10:50 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. for second- and third-year students.
The programme commenced with the college anthem, followed by the felicitation of the speakers by Fr. Dr. Sherry George and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, who emphasized the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in shaping future careers.
Mr. Dhiraj Kumar elaborated on startup financing, taxation, and statutory compliance, while Mr. Anand Kumar Giri explained policy frameworks, risk management strategies, and ethical business practices.
An interactive discussion session followed, significantly enhancing students’ awareness, confidence, and entrepreneurial motivation, encouraging them to explore startup opportunities and innovation-driven career paths.
January 16th, 2026: UI/UX Design Session
As part of its initiative to promote design awareness and digital creativity, the Xavier Coding Club organized a UI/UX Design Session for the academic year 2025–26 on 16 January 2026.
The session introduced students to the fundamentals of user-centered design through a PPT-based presentation. It explained the meaning and differences between User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), highlighting their importance and role in modern digital applications.
Core concepts such as visual elements, user journeys, accessibility, and mobile-first design were discussed to help students understand how effective design enhances usability and engagement.
The session also covered essential design principles, the UI/UX design process, popular tools such as Figma, and best practices including user feedback and iterative improvement. The programme successfully encouraged students to explore UI/UX as a creative and career-oriented domain.
January 10th, 2026: National Youth Day
The Social Awareness Committee of Xavier University, Patna successfully organised the National Youth Day celebration on 10 January 2026 with the objective of spreading awareness about the life, values, and teachings of Swami Vivekananda.
Through various activities and interactive discussions, students were encouraged to reflect upon Swami Vivekananda’s vision of youth empowerment, self-discipline, and service to society. The programme inspired young minds to connect personal growth with social responsibility.
The celebration motivated participants to develop self-belief, moral strength, and a deeper sense of commitment towards nation building. Emphasis was placed on cultivating leadership qualities and ethical values among students.

January 07th, 2026: ICT–IBM Industry Interaction Session
An engaging ICT–IBM Industry Interaction Session was conducted on 7 January 2026 from 9:55 AM to 10:45 AM at LH 95, Denobili Hall, St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, under the initiative of the ICT Academy. The session aimed to familiarize students with current industry expectations and emerging technological trends.
The programme commenced with an address by Dr. Piyush Sahay, Placement Head, who emphasized the importance of industry exposure, employability skills, and active student participation in value-added training programmes. He encouraged students to make optimal use of initiatives such as the ICT–IBM collaboration to enhance their technical competencies and career readiness.
The technical session was led by Mr. Abhishek, an industry expert from IBM, who shared valuable insights on digital transformation, skill development, and the growing significance of data analytics in the technology sector. January 07th, 2026: Blanket Distribution
On 7 January 2026, the NSS Unit successfully organized a blanket distribution drive in and around the Gandhi Maidan area as part of its commitment to social welfare and community service.
The initiative aimed to provide warmth and comfort to underprivileged individuals during the winter season. A total of 50 blankets were distributed among needy people living in the surrounding areas.
The blankets were generously donated by the father of Ayush Kumar in the loving memory of his grandmother, making the gesture both compassionate and meaningful.
The drive reflected the true spirit of selfless service and collective responsibility towards society, reinforcing the values of empathy and social commitment among students.
January 05–09th, 2026: Five-Day Faculty Development Programme
A Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Wrapper Link Happy Mouse Cursor Need Help “Emotional Intelligence for Academic Leaders: Building Empathy, Resilience, and Inclusive Classroom Learning Environment” was successfully organised jointly by Xavier University, Patna and The Bhopal School of Social Sciences from 5th to 9th January in hybrid mode, under the aegis of their Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQAC).
The FDP aimed to strengthen emotional competencies among academicians and academic leaders, in alignment with the holistic vision of NEP 2020. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members, early-career academicians, researchers, and academic administrators from across the country.
The inaugural session set the tone by highlighting the growing relevance of Emotional Intelligence (EI) in higher education, especially in addressing stress, fostering inclusive classrooms, and enhancing student engagement. Over five days, expert sessions covered key dimensions of EI — including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, social skills, and digital emotional intelligence for hybrid and online learning environments.
Resource persons, including Ms. Shilpa Sharma and Dr. Tanuja Khan, facilitated interactive sessions, case discussions, and practical strategies for integrating EI into teaching, mentoring, and leadership practices. The valedictory session featured an insightful address by Dr. Vinay Kumar, Consultant Psychiatrist, emphasizing emotional well-being and resilience in academic life.
The FDP concluded with positive feedback from participants, reaffirming the importance of emotionally intelligent leadership in higher education institutions.
December 26th, 2025: Faculty Exchange Programme & Faculty Development Programme
The Department of Business Administration, St. Xavier's College of Management & Technology (SXCMT), Patna, in collaboration with PCU, Pune, successfully organized a Faculty Exchange Programme and Faculty Development Programme on 26th December 2025.

The Department of Commerce, St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology, Patna, in collaboration with IIEBM – Indus Business School, Pune, organized a three-day Academic Immersion Program – Industrial Visit from 25th to 27th December 2025 for B.Com Part III students.
The program provided students with practical exposure to industries such as Magnesia Chemicals, Arista Chemicals, Govind Milk Products, and a Solar Plant. These visits enhanced students’ understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, sustainability practices, and supply chain management.
In addition to industrial exposure, the programme included city tours, cultural visits, and interactive sessions with industry experts, enriching the overall learning experience.

December 25th – 27th, 2025: BBA Part III Industry Visit to Pune
The Department of Business Administration, St. Xavier's College of Management & Technology, Patna, in collaboration with PCU, Pune and Shiksha Mantra, New Delhi, successfully organized a three-day Student Development Programme (SDP) and Industrial Visit to Pune from 25th to 27th December 2025.
A total of 38 selected students from BBA Part II participated in the programme. The students were accompanied by Dr. Piyush R. Sahay, Dean – School of Management, and Dr. Ritu Rani, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration.
The SDP was conducted at PCU, Pune, followed by industrial visits to Lumax and Mask Polymer. The programme provided students with valuable exposure to industry practices, manufacturing processes, corporate culture, and real-world business operations.
The visit significantly enhanced students’ industry awareness, professional skills, and career readiness, effectively bridging the gap between academic learning and practical application. The initiative reflects the institution’s strong commitment to experiential and industry-oriented learning.
December 23rd, 2025: Christmas Celebration
The Feast of St. Francis Xavier, the chief patron of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, was celebrated with great enthusiasm on campus. The programme was presided over by Rev. Fr. Vimal Kishore, SJ, Provincial of Patna Jesuit, and witnessed active participation from faculty, staff, and students.
The celebration commenced with the College Anthem, followed by a solemn lamp-lighting ceremony and floral tributes offered to the portrait of St. Francis Xavier. The Xavier Dance Club and Xavier Dhwani Club set a reverent and joyful tone through a graceful prayer dance and a festive song.
Fr. Dr. Martin Poras, SJ, Principal of the College, extended a warm welcome to the gathering and highlighted the spiritual and educational significance of the feast. The Chief Guest inspired the audience by sharing profound insights into the life, mission, and legacy of St. Francis Xavier.

December 20th, 2025: Student Seminar “Innovative & Sustainable Practices in Humanities, Management & Technology,”
Xavier University, Patna organized a Student Seminar aimed at enhancing students’ academic confidence, presentation skills, and subject understanding.

December 13th, 2025: Songs of Joy – Carol Singing Competition
Xavier University, Patna successfully organized “Songs of Joy”, a Christmas Carol Singing Competition that celebrated the true spirit of Christmas through music, faith, and harmony. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools, parishes, churches, colleges, and teachers, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere across the campus.
The programme began with an inspiring address by the Vice-Chancellor, who highlighted that Christmas carols convey universal messages of hope, peace, love, and unity beyond religious boundaries. The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Pulickal SJ, along with other respected Jesuit dignitaries.
A total of twenty teams participated across four categories — Junior English, Senior English, Junior Hindi, and Senior Hindi. The performances reflected devotion, musical excellence, and cultural richness.

December 08th, 2025: Nukkad Natak – No to Drugs, Yes to Life
The Xavier Theatre Club of Xavier University staged a powerful Nukkad Natak at the Patna Book Fair with the theme “No to Drugs, Yes to Life.” The event was organized by the Centre for Leadership Development with the objective of spreading awareness about the dangers of drug addiction and its devastating impact on individuals and society.
The play portrayed the journey of a sincere student who gradually falls into the trap of drugs, highlighting how addiction leads to crime, loss of self-control, and imbalance in life. Through impactful street-theatre narration, the performance conveyed the harsh realities of substance abuse in a relatable and thought-provoking manner.
The story concluded on a hopeful note, depicting the student’s rehabilitation and recovery at the Disha Rehabilitation Centre, reinforcing the message that timely support and determination can help individuals reclaim their lives.
The Nukkad Natak was conceptualized and directed by Mr. Ajay Kumar and was strongly supported by a dedicated team comprising Zoya, Prince, Aditi, Aastha, Ankit, Abhishek, Uday, Ashu, and others. The performance was highly appreciated by the audience for its strong message, engaging presentation, and social relevance.
December 06th, 2025: Industrial Visit – Prabhat Khabar Press
Second-year students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication undertook an industrial visit to the Prabhat Khabar Office and Printing Press, located in the Patliputra Industrial Area, Patna, as part of their academic enrichment activities. The visit aimed to integrate theoretical learning with practical exposure to professional media operations.
The students were accompanied by Ms. Priyanka Singh, Assistant Professor, BA (JMC) Department, and Mr. Manoj Kumar Das, Technical Assistant, BA (JMC) Department, who guided them throughout the visit.
During the visit, students received a guided tour of the printing press and observed the complete process of newspaper production, including plate preparation, printing machine operations, and quality assurance mechanisms. They were introduced to the workflow required for producing large-scale print editions within strict time constraints.
The students also interacted with professionals from the reporting and editorial sections, gaining insights into news gathering, content development, copy-editing, and page layout. A visit to the digital wing further familiarized them with online journalism, multimedia content creation, and digital news management.
Overall, the industrial visit significantly enhanced students’ understanding of print–digital media convergence and strengthened their professional orientation towards careers in journalism and mass communication.
December 06th, 2025: Special Screening of the Short Film “Stalker”
The Department of Mass Communication organised a special screening of the short film “Stalker”, created by the alumni of the department. The film was written and directed by Aman Kumar (Batch 2018–2021), produced by Nihal Kumar Dutta and Shivangshu Singh Satya (Batch 2016–2019), with music, background score, and editing by Shivam Dhawan (Batch 2015–2018). The entire creative team was present during the screening.
With a duration of 12 minutes, the film explores its theme through the lens of Feminist Film Theory, as explained by the producer Nihal Kumar Dutta. The screening was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, during which the director shared insights into the conceptualization of the story and the collaborative creative process behind the film.
The music composer and editor Shivam Dhawan elaborated on the techniques used in editing and sound design to create the desired emotional impact. The interactive discussion enriched students’ understanding of filmmaking, narrative construction, and critical theory application.
The enthusiastic response from students assured the film team that “Stalker” successfully delivered its intended message and impact, making the screening a meaningful and enriching academic experience.
December 06th, 2025: Innovate for India – SDG-Based Economic Solutions
The Department of Economics organized a workshop titled “Innovate for India: SDG-Based Economic Solutions” on 6th December 2025 for students of BA Economics and BBA (IB). The session aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their significance in India’s economic development.
As part of the workshop, students creatively designed and presented placards highlighting key SDG themes such as poverty reduction, gender equality, climate action, and responsible consumption. The activity encouraged innovative thinking and enabled students to express complex economic and social issues in a visual and engaging manner.
The programme was smoothly anchored with insightful narration and was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, which allowed students to reflect critically on sustainable development challenges and solutions.

December 06th, 2025: Social Impact Shark Tank
The Department of Commerce organized a Social Impact Shark Tank competition on the theme “Environment and Sustainability” on 6th December 2025 at Loyola Hall. The event was coordinated by Dr. Rachna Thakkar and Ms. Tracy Joan Reid.
Four teams participated in the competition, presenting innovative and eco-friendly business ideas aimed at addressing pressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable practices. The participants demonstrated remarkable creativity, critical thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit, reflecting a strong sense of environmental responsibility.
The ideas were evaluated by the judges Ms. Priya Gupta and Dr. Alok Baran, who appreciated the originality, feasibility, and social relevance of the proposed solutions. They also provided constructive feedback to help students refine and strengthen their concepts.
The competition proved to be both inspiring and informative, enhancing students’ understanding of sustainability-driven entrepreneurship and motivating them to contribute responsibly towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
December 06th, 2025: Advanced Spreadsheet Functions across Excel, Sheets & Calc for Data Analysis and Visualization
The School of Computer Science organized a workshop titled “Advanced Spreadsheet Functions Across Excel, Sheets & Calc for Data Analysis and Visualization” on 6th December 2025 at De Nobili Hall. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Azad Deepak (M.Tech, CSE) and was attended by students from all three years of the BCA programme.
During the session, the resource person demonstrated a wide range of advanced spreadsheet functions, including data analysis techniques, conditional formatting, lookup functions, and data visualization tools across different spreadsheet platforms such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, and LibreOffice Calc.
The workshop followed an interactive, hands-on approach, enabling students to practice the concepts in real time. This practical exposure helped participants understand how spreadsheet tools can be effectively used for academic projects as well as professional data handling and analysis.

December 06th, 2025: Disha 3.0
The Placement Cell, Department of Business Administration, and Shiksha Mantra Group collaboratively organized Disha 3.0, a student research and counselling symposium, at St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology.
The programme was graced by Mr. Abhayanand, retired IPS officer, renowned educationist, and co-founder of Super 30, as the Chief Guest. The inaugural session commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the felicitation of the guests by Principal Dr. Father Martin Poras SJ and Mr. Piyush Ranjan Sahay, HOD, Department of Business Administration.

December 05th, 2025: Industrial Visit – Amrapali Foods, Hajipur
The Department of Business Administration of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, organized an industrial visit for Part II students to Amrapali Foods, Hajipur on 5th December 2025. The visit provided students with valuable industry exposure and firsthand insight into the operations of a leading food-processing organization.
During the visit, students explored various sections of the production facility, including raw material inspection, processing units, packaging lines, and quality control procedures. Interactions with industry professionals helped students understand the practical dimensions of operations management, supply chain processes, and workplace discipline in a real-time industrial environment.
The students were accompanied and guided by faculty members Dr. Ritu Rani, Mr. Arindam Roy, and Mr. Mario Martin, who ensured that the visit remained informative, structured, and academically enriching. December 03rd, 2025: Patron’s Day
The Patron’s Day Celebration was held on 3rd December 2025 at Kalam Hall to honour St. Francis Xavier and reflect on his enduring legacy of service, compassion, and dedication.
The programme began with an Introduction to the Day and the College Anthem, followed by the ceremonial Lighting of the Lamp. A Floral Tribute to St. Francis Xavier and a symbolic Procession highlighted the values he stood for. The Registrar delivered a warm Welcome Address and Felicitation, setting an uplifting tone for the celebration.
A thought-provoking student drama titled “The Light that Transforms” beautifully portrayed the power of service, humanity, and selfless commitment. The event was graced by distinguished guests, with the Chief Guest, Mr. Glan Gaulston, Director of St. Dominic High School, speaking on character formation and educational excellence.
The Guest of Honour, Ms. Magret Gwada from UNICEF, emphasized child welfare and the importance of inclusive education. A video presentation on the life of the saint, a joyful Happy Feast Song, and a lively Praise Dance added colour and vibrancy to the celebration.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks followed by the National Anthem, leaving the audience inspired by the values and spirit of St. Francis Xavier.
December 02nd, 2025: National Pollution Control Day
Xavier University celebrated National Pollution Control Day on 2nd December 2025 with the aim of creating awareness about environmental protection and sustainable living.
On this occasion, the Eco Mitra Club organized a plantation drive across the university campus to promote environmental responsibility and highlight the importance of reducing pollution. Students actively participated in the initiative, planting saplings and learning about the role of greenery in maintaining ecological balance.
The programme emphasized the need to protect nature and encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. Through this initiative, the university reinforced its commitment to sustainability and inspired students to become responsible stewards of the environment.
December 02nd, 2025: Student Development Program
The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, Patna, organized a Student Development Programme (SDP) for Part 3 students on 2nd December 2025 at Kalam Hall. The programme aimed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required to excel in today’s competitive corporate environment.
The session began with a warm welcome extended by Fr. Dr. Sherry George SJ, Vice Principal, who greeted the resource persons and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and skill enhancement for future managers and leaders.
The SDP was conducted by Dr. Deepika Joshi and Dr. Komal D’Souza from St. Joseph’s Institute of Management, Bengaluru. Through an engaging and interactive session, they addressed key themes such as leadership development, career planning, and the essential competencies needed in the corporate world. Xavier University celebrated National Education Day with great enthusiasm, highlighting the significance of education in shaping an enlightened and progressive society. As part of the observance, the University invited Mr. Anchit Pandey as the guest speaker.
Mr. Pandey addressed the students and emphasized the importance of the day, which commemorates the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first Education Minister and a visionary leader. He spoke about the need for quality education, continuous learning, and the role of youth in building an informed and empowered nation. His insights encouraged students to value education not merely as academic learning but as a lifelong tool for growth and social contribution.
November 21st, 2025: Building Resilient Commerce in a VUCA World
Xavier University, Patna, successfully conducted its National Seminar titled “Building Resilient Commerce in a VUCA World” on 21 November 2025. Organized by the Department of Commerce, the day-long academic event brought together distinguished scholars, industry experts, researchers, and students to deliberate on the evolving challenges and opportunities within a rapidly changing commercial landscape.
Dr. Rachna Thakkar, Assistant Professor, School of Commerce, welcomed all delegates. The ceremonial lamp lighting was led by Ms. Tracy Joan Reid. Vice-Chancellor Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ delivered the Organiser’s Address and released the Book of Abstracts. Convener Ms. Priya Gupta addressed the gathering, setting the academic context for the seminar.
The event commenced with a welcome address by Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ, Vice Chancellor of Xavier University, Patna. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between higher education institutions and schools to strengthen the state’s educational ecosystem. He assured the attending principals that the university would extend its full support in enhancing teaching and learning experiences amid rapid technological transformation.The highlight of the inaugural session was the keynote address by Dr. Rana Singh, Director, CIMP, who provided rich insights into resilience-building mechanisms in commerce amid volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. An interactive session with participants added vibrancy to the inaugural segment.
The seminar featured six technical tracks, conducted across pre-lunch and post-lunch sessions in parallel venues. More than 70 research papers were presented, covering topics such as digital transformation, financial resilience, consumer behaviour, cybersecurity, sustainability, HRM practices, agripreneurship, AI-driven commerce, public policy, and green commerce. Eminent academicians—including Dr. Niharika Kumari, CS Shweta Shah, Dr. Namrata Gain, and Dr. Shilpi Kavita—chaired the sessions, ensuring rigorous academic engagement.
The Valedictory Session held at De Nobili Hall was anchored by Ms. Tracy Joan Reid. Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ and Fr. Sherry George SJ offered reflections on the seminar’s outcomes. November 16th, 2025: Cyber security Awareness Session
As a part of its mission to promote digital safety and awareness, Xavier Coding Club organized a “Cyber security Awareness Session” for the academic year 2025–26.

C. How online scams typically occur
In the session Real Cyber Threats were explained which included

A live demo was given in which it was demonstrated how clicking a suspicious link revealed the user’s IP address.
November 16th , 2025: Baal Mela
The Xavier University Unit of the All India Catholic University Federation (AICUF) organized a Bal Mela on 16th November 2025 to mark Children’s Day. The programme invited 100 underprivileged children from the Ragpickers Education & Development Scheme. Volunteers arranged a variety of activities, and each child received stationery items donated by the XUP Management along with LCD slates contributed by Dr. Upasana and her family. The event was graced by the chief guest, Fr. Anthony Prakash, State Head of AICUF, along with Fr. Dr. Sherry and other dignitaries. Different games were conducted for the children, and the celebrations concluded with lunch for all participants.
It was reported that the success of the Bal Mela was made possible through the generous contributions of the Xavier University staff and the active involvement of several individuals. A fund-raiser was also conducted to support the donation drive . The efforts of Fr. Dinesh, Sr. Jaya, Ms. Tracy, Mr. Ajay, Dr. Upasana, Mr. Abhishek & Mr Mario Chairperson of AICUF in organizing the games were acknowledged, while special mention was made of Ayush Xess, the anchor, and the student volunteers of AICUF who worked tirelessly. The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology (SXCMT), Patna organized a career counselling session for Part 3 students featuring experts from the Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai.
Fr. Dr. Martin Poras SJ, Principal, welcomed the LIBA team and addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of career readiness.
Dr. Joseph Francis, Assistant Professor at LIBA and a PMP-certified Operations expert, guided students on career opportunities in Operations, Analytics, Consulting, Marketing, Finance, HR, and Entrepreneurship.

November 08th, 2025: Media Startup Pitch
The Department of Mass Communication organised a Media Start-Up Pitch for the students of 2nd and 3rd year. The students were briefed by Mrs. Priya Manish Kumar and how to develop a media business plan. Each student of 3rd year presented one media start-up idea and the 2nd year students presented their media start-up idea in teams of two. Fr. Premlal Lucas SJ along with Mrs. Priya Manish Kumar were the judges. The students came up with ideas for both traditional and digital media. They showcased their innovative and conceptual skills. The best ideas will be forwarded to the Start-Up Cell for further action. At the end of the presentations Fr. Premlal Lucas SJ addressed the students, giving his insight and guidance for further improvements. After that Mrs. Priya Manish Kumar also shared her insights with the students, guiding them towards improvement. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashmit Singh of BA(JMC) III.

The Start-up Cell organized an inspiring session titled “Start-Up: Ignite, Inspire & Innovate” on 8th November 2025 at Loyola Hall for B.Com (Professional) 2nd and 3rd year students. The event aimed to promote entrepreneurial awareness and motivate students to transform innovative ideas into viable ventures.
The session began with a warm welcome by anchor Amit Toppo, who emphasized the growing importance of entrepreneurial skills. Dr. Ashok Kumar then introduced the Start-up Cell, explaining its objectives, activities, and the support it provides to students. He highlighted government funding schemes available at minimal interest rates and encouraged students to utilize them.
.During the interaction, Tarunima from 3rd year raised a query about loan repayment, to which Dr. Ashok explained the flexible repayment options offered under start-up schemes. He also discussed the crucial role of the District Industries Centre (DIC) in offering financial assistance and mentorship

The Department of Business Administration of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna organized an expert talk on “Startup Ecosystem in Patna” on 8th November 2025 to mark the occasion of National Entrepreneurship Day.
The session was delivered by Mr. Satyam Keshri, Co-Founder of Health Sewa, Patna, and a proud alumnus of the BBA (2016–2019) batch.
Mr. Keshri shared insightful perspectives on the opportunities and challenges that emerging entrepreneurs face in today’s competitive business environment. He emphasized that true entrepreneurship should arise from a meaningful vision that contributes to society and enhances the quality of life for customers.
He further highlighted the special relevance of entrepreneurship for BBA students, encouraging them to think innovatively, build leadership capabilities, and aspire to become future job creators rather than job seekers. The Department of Computer Applications, St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology, organized an inspiring session titled “Life After College – My Journey.” The resource person, Mr. Kumar Ankit, alumnus of BCA (2016–2019) and currently a Developer at TCS, Kolkata, shared his journey from college to corporate life. November 01st, 2025: One-Day Soft Skills Workshop
Xavier University, Patna, in collaboration with St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, organized a One-Day Soft Skills Workshop (Student Development Programme – SDP) on 1 November 2025 under the aegis of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The workshop aimed to enhance the employability and holistic development of undergraduate students by equipping them with essential soft skills for personal and professional growth. Facilitators Dr. M. Amutha and Dr. V. L. Jayapaul from St. Joseph’s College conducted interactive and experiential sessions focusing on four key areas- Communication Skills, Critical Thinking, Team Player, and Time Management.

October 31st, 2025: Department of English Organizes Academic Consortium under the Aegis of IQAC
The Department of English, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Xavier University, Patna, organized an Academic Consortium on 31 October 2025 at the University Conference Hall.
Distinguished academicians from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli) — Dr. V. L. Jayapaul and Dr. M. Amutha — served as resource persons. Their presentations centered on practical frameworks for collaborative quality enhancement and continuous improvement. The program focused on strengthening academic quality through streamlined documentation and institutional best practices in higher education. The sessions included insightful discussions on improving documentation processes, benchmarking academic performance, and fostering a quality-driven institutional culture. The interactive Q&A session witnessed active participation from faculty members, making the programme a meaningful knowledge-sharing platform.

Diwali Celebration
The Kabir Club organized a vibrant Diwali Celebration on 18th October 2025 in the university campus. The week commenced with two major competitions — the Inter-Departmental Rangoli Making Competition and the Inter-Mentoring Group Diya Decoration Competition.
In the Rangoli Making Competition, teams of four students each from all six departments participated, judged by Dr. Rachana Thakkar (Chair, Cultural Committee) and Dr. Piyush Ranjan Sahay (Head, Placement Cell). The Diya Decoration competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 27 mentoring groups, each represented by one boy and one girl, judged by Fr. Dr. Alphonse Sebastian SJ (Controller of Examination) and Ms. Priya Manish Kumar (Assistant Professor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication).
The celebration culminated on 18th October 2025 with a grand Diwali Celebration held in Kalam Hall from 10:50 AM. The event began with an introduction by the anchors Naif Khan and Suhani, followed by the College Anthem. A soulful prayer dance by the Xavier Dance Club on the song Ram Siya Ram and an engaging skit on Ramayana by the Xavier Theatre Club added festive charm to the occasion.
Certificates were then distributed to the winners of the Rangoli Making, Diya Decoration, and Rakhi Making competitions, along with the certificates of the Xavier Theatre Club for Samarpan. A short video on Diwali and a musical performance by the Xavier Dhwani Club further enhanced the celebration.
The program concluded with the lighting of diyas by dignitaries. The event ended with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Kanhaiya Singh. The Diwali Celebration Week beautifully blended creativity, culture, and devotion, spreading the true spirit of the festival across the campus. All students, Office bearers and faculty members were present during the Competition. Finally, the event concluded with a heartfelt joy and happiness among the students.
October 17th, 2025: Eye Screening Camp
An eye screening camp was organised by the NSS Unit of St. Xavier’s College of Management and Technology and Xavier University, in collaboration with ASG Eye Hospital, on 17th October 2025 at Loyola Hall. The camp aimed to promote eye health and provide early detection of vision problems among faculty members, students, and staff. A team of specialists from ASG Eye Hospital conducted detailed eye check-ups and offered useful tips for better vision. Over a hundred participants benefited from the initiative, which was highly appreciated for promoting health awareness on campus.
They also advised maintaining strong eyes and a healthy body by eating a diet rich in vitamins A, C, and E, staying hydrated, sleeping well, exercising regularly, and avoiding excessive screen time. Proper lighting, wearing sunglasses outdoors, and regular eye check-ups were also recommended for good vision.
October 16th, 2025: Industrial Visit to Sudha Dairy, Ara, 2025
The Department of Commerce organised an industrial visit to Sudha Dairy in Ara on 16th October, 2025, for second-year students as part of their experiential learning initiative. A group of 22 students visited the plant to gain firsthand knowledge of the production and processing of dairy products.
The visit was coordinated and accompanied by Ms Priya Gupta and Dr Ashok Kumar, Assistant Professors, Department of Commerce. The team departed from the college campus at 8:30 a.m. and returned the same day by 4:00 p.m.
The visit offered students an excellent opportunity to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world industrial practices and understand the operational processes of one of Bihar’s leading dairy units.
October 16th, 2025: Eco-Friendly Deepavali
The students of Gyan Ashram celebrated an eco-friendly Deepavali with great enthusiasm. Almost 40 students participated and showcased their creativity by making beautiful bears and taking photos. They also discussed the importance of using eco-friendly products and the impact of pollution on the environment. A session on the financial aspects of organizing such an event was conducted to provide practical learning. The celebration was organized under the direction and supervision of NSS Nodal Officer Shri Ajay Kumar. The event was well-supported by the NSS team, led by Abhishek, Vice President, along with other interns. Children created stunning photographs and decorated beautiful diyas, demonstrating their artistic skills. In addition, the celebration emphasized the importance of Deepavali and motivated students to learn valuable lessons about unity and diversity.

The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, organized an insightful session on “New Age Skills that Industry Demands” on 16th October 2025 at De Nobili Hall (LH 95). The special session was conducted exclusively for Part 3 students of BBA and BBA (IB) to help them understand the essential skills required to thrive in today’s competitive professional environment.
The resource person for the session was Prof. Debarghya Bagchi, Faculty Member at IBS Kolkata. Prof. Bagchi holds a B.Sc. (Tech) from Calcutta University and a PGDM from the Goa Institute of Management. With over 23 years of professional experience, including 12 years in the corporate sector and 11 years in academics, he has worked with reputed organizations such as Raymond Ltd., Usha International Ltd., ICICI Securities, and Reliance Securities Ltd. His areas of expertise include Financial Management, Quantitative Techniques, and Corporate Finance.
The session commenced with a warm welcome by members of the Placement Cell. Prof. Bagchi emphasized the importance of reskilling and upskilling in the face of rapid technological change and evolving job markets. He elaborated on how digital transformation is reshaping workplaces and discussed emerging domains such as digital marketing, financial technology, entrepreneurship and startups, content creation and media, and green and renewable energy skills.
Addressing the students, Prof. Bagchi encouraged them to cultivate adaptability, curiosity, and a mindset of lifelong learning to stay relevant in the dynamic industry landscape. The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 130 students of both programs.

The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna, celebrated Innovation Day by organizing two enlightening sessions aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of strategic thinking and career planning in the digital era.
The first session, titled“Strategic Management through the Digital Age,” was held at De Nobili Hall for Part 3 students of BBA, BBA (IB), B.Com (P), and BA–JMC programs. The resource person, Dr. Arnab Chakraborty, Director and Head, School of Leadership and Management, MRIIRS, shared his expertise drawn from over 18 years in academia and the corporate sector.
The event commenced with a welcome address by members of the Placement Cell. Dr. Chakraborty emphasized how strategic management is evolving with rapid digital transformation and highlighted themes such as skills of the future, rethinking strategic goals, and the shift from VUCA to BANI frameworks. He also stressed the value of networking, stating that “Your network is your net worth.”

October 11th, 2025: Cyber Awareness and Safe Online Habits
The institution organized an interactive session on “Cyber Awareness and Safe Online Habits” for students, conducted by Ms. Sumbul Afroz, IT Head at the Bihar State Disaster Management Authority. The session aimed to sensitize students to the growing challenges in cyberspace and the importance of maintaining digital safety in their daily lives.
Ms. Afroz shared valuable insights on cybersecurity threats, phishing, password protection, data privacy, and responsible use of social media. She stressed the importance of being cautious while sharing personal information online and illustrated her points with real-life examples of cyber frauds to enhance awareness.

October 11th, 2025: Getting Started With IoT and Robotics
The workshop “Getting Started With IoT and Robotics” was organized by School of Computer Science to provide students with hands-on experience and conceptual understanding of how IoT devices and robotic systems are revolutionizing industries. The session was conducted by Mr. Rohit Ranjan, Founder and CEO of NEOGENTECH. He is a mentor at IIT Patna and also mentors students at Patna Women’s College. October 09th, 2025: Script Writing Workshop
The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna organized a Script Writing Workshop for Part II and Part III students on 9th October 2025, aimed at enhancing students’ creative writing and storytelling skills. The 2-hour long workshop introduced participants to the fundamental and advanced aspects of script writing for various media platforms, including film, television, radio, and digital content. It focused on helping students understand the process of developing a script — from conceptualizing an idea and creating a plotline to building characters, writing dialogues, and structuring scenes effectively.
The session was designed to be highly interactive and activity-based, allowing students to engage in a series of creative exercises, brainstorming sessions, and group writing tasks. These activities encouraged critical thinking, collaboration, and imaginative expression. Students also explored how scripts differ across media formats and learned the importance of tone, pacing, and visual storytelling.
The resource person Mr Vikas Kumar guided participants through practical examples, enabling them to analyze professional scripts and apply similar techniques in their own writing. October 08th, 2025: HR Insights – Navigating Career Opportunities in IT and Digital Marketing
The Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology, Patna organized an insightful session on “Navigating Career Opportunities in IT and Digital Marketing” on 8th October 2025.
The session was conducted by Mr. Anil Kumar, MBA (Marketing & Data Science) from Graphic Era University and currently pursuing a Fellow Programme in Management (Marketing & Data Science) from Birla Institute of Management, Greater Noida. He is presently associated with GIBS, Bangalore and has prior work experience as a Business Analyst at Wipro Technologies, Gurugram.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Vaishnavi, a student of Business Administration and a member of the Placement Cell. Mr. Piyush Sahay, Head of the Placement Cell, felicitated the guest with a sapling as a token of appreciation.
During the session, Mr. Kumar shared valuable insights into career prospects in Digital Marketing and IT, highlighting the growing opportunities in top consulting firms, IT companies, and FMCG sectors. He explained the difference between marketing and sales, discussed real-world case studies such as Info Edge (India) Ltd., and elaborated on how startups evolve through research and digital marketing strategies. He also emphasized that the next 50 years will be dominated by platform-based business models, encouraging students to adapt to emerging digital trends.

Mental Health Awareness and Resilience - A Challenge Today
On 4th October 2025, St. Xavier’s University organized a program on “Mental Health Awareness and Resilience - a challenge today” incorporating stress reduction techniques and self-care planning for all students of the college. The resource person was Dr. Farheen Fatima MBBS MD. Associate Professor and Consultant, a well-known practicing Psychiatrist from Mediversal Health studio, Patna The session aimed to educate students about the importance of mental health awareness and strategies to build resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Dr. Farheen shared her valuable and insightful knowledge on mental health and well-being, adopting healthy coping mechanisms and resilience building. It was an enriching experience to gain deeper insights into managing stress to foster excellence and holistic growth among students. The interactive session was very informative and empowering students to discuss various problems faced openly.
She suggested appropriate skills to develop stress management and hands on techniques to stress reduction and self-care planning, providing practical tips on maintaining mental well-being amidst modern life’s demands. Nurturing a positive mind-set is so important to personal development and cultivating those using skills and talents.
XEST 2025 – Xavier Youth Festival
The Xavier Youth Festival, XEST 2025, concluded with thunderous applause, electrifying performances, and unforgettable memories at Xavier University, Patna. The two-day cultural extravaganza, held from 26th to 27th September, brought together hundreds of young talents from across Patna to celebrate art, culture, and creativity in its purest form.
The festival opened with a grand inauguration ceremony led by the Chancellor of Xavier University, followed by vibrant cultural presentations from the host institution. The distinguished chief guest, Prof. Dr. Arun Kamal — renowned poet, Sahitya Akademi Award winner, and former Professor of English at Patna University — inspired the gathering with his words on literature, youth, and expression.
Over the two days, students competed passionately in a wide spectrum of events ranging from dance, theatre, music, and fashion, and literary contests. The Battle of Bands proved to be one of the most energetic highlights, with electrifying guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and a roaring audience that turned the Xavier campus into a live concert arena.
The finale on 27th September was nothing short of spectacular. The crowd was treated to spellbinding performances in Speech, Singing, Poetry, and Dance, before the evening reached its peak with the dazzling Fashion Show. The day ended on a high note with a spectacular daance performance by the Xavier Dance Club, uniting participants and audience in a rhythmic celebration of joy and togetherness. With its mix of talent, energy, and cultural vibrancy, XEST 2025 lived up to its promise of being more than an event — it became a movement of youthful spirit and artistic brilliance. The festival closed with cheers and promises to return next year with even greater enthusiasm.
Faculty Development Programme – Innovation, Creativity, and Emerging Trends in Teaching and Research
Xavier University (IQAC) Six-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Innovation, Creativity, and Emerging Trends in Teaching and Research” from 19th to 25th September 2025. The programme was designed to provide faculty members with a platform to explore modern pedagogical strategies, creative approaches to teaching, and emerging tools of research that can enhance academic excellence. The FDP commenced on 19th September 2025 with a Welcome Address by Fr. Dr. Sherry George, SJ, Registrar, Xavier University, who emphasized the vital role of faculty in shaping future generations. The Keynote Address was delivered by Prof. Anunaya Chaubey, Provost Emeritus, Anant National University, Ahmedabad, who underlined the transformative power of creativity in education. The first academic session, led by Dr. Anurag Ambasta, Dean, School of Arts and Humanities, Xavier University, introduced participants to Design Thinking in Teaching, highlighting its application for student-centric and innovative classrooms. The following days witnessed an enriching series of lectures and discussions. On Day 2, Prof. Shankar Purbey from DMI Patna emphasized designing courses for higher-order learning, while Dr. Rachna Thakkar, Dean Academics, Xavier University, spoke on Teaching for Transfer, stressing the importance of knowledge application across contexts. Day 3 featured Dr. Sweta, Head of PMIR, A.N. College, Patna, who shared insights on faculty-led reforms for improving higher education in Bihar, followed by Prof. Khagendra Kumar, Patna University, who discussed policy shifts and the impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. On Day 4, Prof. Smriti Singh, IIT Patna, presented innovative pedagogical practices, while Dr. Piyush Ranjan Sahay, Dean, School of Management, Xavier University, guided participants through the complete journey of research—from problem formulation to publication. Day 5 explored new learning methodologies with Mr. Rajesh Pandey, Founder, Anand Training Consultancy, who introduced frameworks for adult learning, and Dr. Supriya Shree, Xavier University, who demonstrated the role of Artificial Intelligence in transforming teaching and research practices. On 24 Sept 2025 the Placement Cell of St. Xavier’s College of Management & Technology hosted a session titled “Talk Your Way to IIMs: GD-PI Skills Every CAT Aspirant Needs” in De Nobili Hall. The speaker, Dr. Amit Kumar Bhanja—Professor and Dean (Marketing) at GIMS, Greater Noida and an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus—shared insights on cracking CAT and excelling in GD-PI rounds. Welcomed by Ms. Zubiya Sahid and honored with a sapling by Dr. Piyush Sahay, Dr. Bhanja emphasized the importance of communication skills, personality traits, and confidence alongside academic preparation. The Department of Computer Applications, in collaboration with the Placement Cell, organized an engaging session on “How to Build a Strong LinkedIn Profile” for BCA Semester III students on 17th September 2025. The session was conducted by Mr. Sourav Kumar, Founder of Quad AI, who has over 11 years of rich experience spanning Tata Steel, startups such as Of Business and Baya, and an MBA from FMS Delhi. With his excellent presentation skills, he made the session highly engaging and interactive, sharing practical insights on creating impactful profiles, enhancing professional visibility, and leveraging LinkedIn for career growth. Students actively participated and gained valuable guidance on profile optimization, networking, and personal branding. SOn 12 & 13 September 2025, School of Commerce had organised an industrial visit for B.COM 1ST SEMESTER. The enterprise selected was Ecowater (Prayas beverages & food pvt ltd) Alampur, Phulwarisharif, Patna ,Bihar. The students were accompanied by Dr Alok Baran and Dr Rachna Thakkar and Ms Priya Gupta. Overall the visit provided the practical knowledge and industry exposure.

On 13th September 2025, we proudly celebrated this occasion to remind ourselves of the richness, simplicity, and beauty of our mother tongue. The day inspires us to respect our Matribhasha, while also embracing linguistic diversity across the nation. Hindi is not only a medium of communication but also a bridge that connects traditions, literature, and people across India.
YFI Food Distribution
As part of the Hunger Free India mission, volunteers from Youth for Free India visited Buddha Cancer Hospital, which provides free treatment to underprivileged patients. During the visit, they interacted with approximately 80 patients, sharing words of encouragement and distributing refreshments to uplift their spirits. The initiative aimed to offer emotional and moral support, bringing smiles to the faces of both patients and volunteers alike. This act of compassion highlighted the importance of empathy and human connection in healthcare settings. The program was conducted successfully under the supervision of Mr. Ajay Kumar (Mentor, YFI), with guidance and support from the office bearers: Luv Ranjan (President, YFI), and team members Shivani and Sheetal. The visit reflected YFI’s commitment to service and social responsibility.
Implementation of AI/ML in Real Life Projects
On 12th September 2025, BCA III students had the privilege of attending an insightful and highly engaging session conducted by Mr. Piyush Pandey on the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in real life projects. The session was structured in a way that not only highlighted theoretical concepts but also emphasized practical applications, making it very relevant for students preparing to enter the tech industry. Mr. Pandey began the session by providing a clear overview of AI and ML, explaining the difference between the two and their significance in modern technology. He then proceeded to demonstrate how these technologies are applied in real world projects, providing examples from multiple industries including healthcare, finance, education, transportation and e-commerce. He encouraged questions, shared real life experiences, and included live demonstrations of AI applications, which kept the students actively involved. His examples and explanations made complex concepts easily understandable and inspired students to think creatively. In conclusion, the session by Mr. Piyush Pandey was informative, inspiring and motivational. It provided students with a clear understanding of how AI and ML are implemented in real life scenarios and encouraged them to develop skills that are crucial for the modern tech industry. Roadmap of XCC
On 10th September at 2:00 PM, Xavier’s Coding Club (XCC) conducted an open session titled “Roadmap of XCC” for the academic year 2025–26, welcoming 51 students from various departments. The session outlined upcoming workshops on key topics such as UI/UX, frontend and backend development, databases, cyber security, AI/ML, and building a strong LinkedIn profile, with student speakers from BCA 2nd and 3rd years leading the introductions. Emphasizing learning and engagement, the session served as a sneak peek into future events. Previous highlights, including the Coding Race under XEST, were showcased to encourage participation in upcoming competitions. A feedback form was shared to gather suggestions for future topics. The session successfully motivated students, offering a clear roadmap and reinforcing XCC’s commitment to fostering a vibrant tech community. The session was aimed at guiding Part 3 students on their transition from academic life to the professional world. Mr. Piyush R. Sahay, Head of the Placement Cell, welcomed the resource persons and urged the students to prepare diligently for their upcoming corporate journey. The session was conducted by Dr. Prithvi Bose, Management Expert and Ph.D. Scholar along with Dr. Pramod Kumar (Ph.D., IIT Bombay). Dr. Bose opened the session by referencing the Oxfam Report on wealth inequality and drew inspiration from global leaders such as Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai. He highlighted the importance of skills, strategy, and positioning in career advancement. He also emphasized mastering fundamental marketing concepts, including the 4Ps, STP, and AIDA frameworks. To build practical exposure, he recommended professional certifications, internships, and volunteering opportunities. Students were advised to treat their CVs as product brochures, prepare strategically for interviews and group discussions, and work on strengthening both academic and professional profiles. The importance of networking, mentorship, and familiarity with MBA selection criteria was also underlined as essential for long-term success.
