Ombudsperson

Prof. (Dr.) Thomas Varghese is a doctorate in Education from Manonmaniam Sundarnar University, Tirunelveli, TamilNadu. He has served as Principal of St. Xavier's College of Education, Patna for 12 years from 2008 - 2020. Prior to that he was the associate professor of the college from 1999 - 2008. He has also served as Principal and vice Principal of three High Schools in Bihar for 12 years.

He had been Dean, Educational Research and Training, Araybhatta Knowledge University, Bihar, Patna and was a member of Board of Affiliation, Academic Council, Examination Board, Grievance Redressal Committee and Executive Council, of AKU, Patna. He had been a member of the Examination Board, Department of Education, Patna University, Member of Syllabus Advisory Committee (Education), Central University of Bihar, Patna, and NAAC Peer Team Member and Member Coordinator from 2010 to 2017. He had been Academic Counselor and Programme in-Charge of IGNOU, Study Centre SXCE, Patna.

He has successfully Supervised 8 Ph.D. Scholars, adjudicated 12 Ph.D. theses in Education and was external examiner for 4 Ph.D. viva voce examination.

He has attended many national and international conferences, and was resource person for many in-house and out-house seminars and workshops. He has published two edited books and 14 research papers in national and international journals. Currently he is the Research Director at the Indian Social Institute, New Delhi.
