At Xavier University, Patna, we believe that financial constraints should never become a barrier to quality higher education. Rooted in our Jesuit commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice, the University offers a structured Fee Concession (Scholarship) Policy to support deserving and meritorious students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds, in accordance with the Bihar Private Universities Act, 2013
The policy aims to:
- Promote access to higher education for students from SC, ST, BC, EBC, Women, and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
- Encourage merit-cum-means–based support, recognising academic potential alongside financial need.
- Uphold the University’s mission of inclusive growth and empowerment, especially for students domiciled in Bihar
Who Can Apply?
Students are eligible for fee concession if they:
- Are domiciles of Bihar.
- Belong to SC, ST, BC, EBC, Women, or EWS categories.
- Have secured admission to a full-time academic programme at Xavier University, Patna.
- Fulfil the merit-cum-means criteria, assessed through academic performance and verified family income documents
Nature of Fee Concessions
As per statutory requirements, 25% of eligible students admitted each year are granted fee concessions, distributed as follows:
- 20% of the selected students receive 100% Tuition fee concession
- 40% receive 50% Tuition fee concession
- 40% receive 25% Tuition fee concession
This structured support ensures that assistance reaches students with varying degrees of need while maintaining fairness and transparency
How to Apply
- Notification: Applications open annually along with admissions and are announced on the University website.
- Submission: Applicants must submit the prescribed form along with domicile, caste/EWS, income certificates, and academic records.
- Selection: Applications are reviewed by the Fee Concession Committee based on merit-cum-means criteria.
- Award: Selected students are officially notified, and the concession is adjusted in their fee structure
Continuation of Scholarship
The fee concession remains valid throughout the programme, subject to:
- Maintenance of the required minimum CGPA.
- Regular attendance and satisfactory academic progress.
- Adherence to the University’s disciplinary norms
Transparency & Support
The policy is periodically reviewed by the University authorities to ensure effective implementation. Students may approach the Grievance Redressal Cell for any concerns related to scholarship applications or decisions
